Dr. Nelson is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and currently serves as the Director of the Center for Brain, Biology, and Behavior (CB3).  His research interests are in pediatric psychology and pediatric health neuroscience. Specifically, his work focuses on the intersection of behavioral, biological, cognitive, social, and environmental influences on child and adolescent health behaviors and outcomes.
