The DCN Lab has been conducting research for over a decade. Please take some time to learn about our current project and other projects our lab has conducted throughout the years. Many of our projects have been a part of a larger longitudinal study looking at cognitive development from birth through young adulthood.
Current Projects
Adolescent Brain and Health Study
The Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab is conducting a new longitudinal study examining health and development in Lancaster County youth ages 14-16. Adolescents and one of their legal guardians can earn up to $575 total for participating in three data collection sessions over approximately 2 years. All sessions will take place at the Center for Brain, Biology, and Behavior (CB3) in Memorial Stadium on UNL's campus, with some additional data collected outside the lab. Participation includes questionnaires and physical measurements for both the adolescent and their guardian, as well as an MRI scan for the adolescent.
Past Projects
The Neural Factors and Eating (2020-2025) study investigates how neural factors relate to health behaviors among young adults who previously participated in our longitudinal Preschool Problem Solving Study. During sessions, participants completed questionnaires and received an MRI scan while drinking a milkshake. Data collection for this project ended in 2025.
